This rugged four-legged structure leaves the competition in the dust! When it comes to the complete unloading of open-top hopper cars, nothing beats the CARHOE II.
Weighing in at 14,000 lbs, the CARHOE II can open holes over the hopper doors, slice through the load, and push or pull the material out the hopper doors. Men need never enter the hopper car to help with the unloading. If you're using a rotary dumper for unloading cars, the CARHOE II is the ideal way to break up chunks left on the grizzly. We "remote control" the CARHOE II to keep men safely away from the unloading area.
If you're concerned with safety and operating expense, keep this in mind: If you ever put humans inside a hopper car or on a grizzly, you need a CARHOE II.
The CARHOE II is powered by a 20 H.P. motor and 24 G.P.M. pump. The two five-inch cylinders that power the digging boom and the spade, create a downward pressure of over 9000 lbs. and a pull force in excess of 4500 lbs. The swing boom (the boom fastened to the tower) can pivot up to 180 degrees. The power boom, spade and operator's platform rotate almost 300 degrees. This unique articulation permits the operator to work both ends of a car and reach 48 ft. into the car. The CARHOE II is virtually trouble-free, simple to operate and easy to install. There is no noise pollution and no damage to railroad cars with a CARHOE II.
If you're currently using a vibrator or shaker in your unloading operation, the CARHOE II will break-up chunks left in the car. It will also scrape material that is stuck or frozen to the sides and flow sheets of the hopper car.
